LCD Soundsystem, boygenius, Steve Lacy Headline New Re:SET in June

The new-to-New Orleans event aspires to be a more fan-friendly summer music festival.

[Updated] In 2022, New Orleans lost Buku and Voodoo remains on hold. Today we learned that on June 9, 10 and 11, we’ll gain Re:SET in City Park.

The new concert series produced by AEG Presents and Winter Circle Productions presents three days of music with coherent lineups built around the headliners. LCD Soundsystem will headline Friday, June 9, which will also feature Jamie xx of The xx, IDLES, and Big Freedia. boygenius—Julian Baker, Phoebe Bridgers, and Lucy Dacus—will headline Saturday, June 9 with indie artists Clairo, Dijon, and Bartees Strange opening. Grammy nominee Steve Lacy will headline the Sunday with a day of genre-bridging artists: James Blake, Toro y Moi, and Fousheé.

Re:SET will take place on the Festival Grounds where Voodoo takes place, but unlike Voodoo and many similar festivals, it will feature one stage on which the artists will play full sets. The goal is to create a more leisurely environment with less hustle from stage to stage.

Presale registration started Tuesday at 11 a.m. at ReSetConcertSeries.com. Register to receive a presale code to buy tickets starting at $99.50. The Artist Presale takes place from February 7-9 starting at 10 a.m. each day, then the Local Presales take place Thursday, February 9 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. in each of the 12 cities that Re:SET will visit this summer. Finally, tickets will go on sale to the general public on Friday, February 10 at 10 a.m.

Initially, the text referred to Re:SET as a festival. That line has been changed to call it a “concert series” since the producers don’t think of it in those terms. Since it takes place in a festival space and offers many of the elements we now associate with festivals including a number of food options by local caterers and restaurants, I’m comfortable with talking about the event in the context of other contemporary music festivals in New Orleans. But, to be clear, that’s not how the producers are presenting Re:SET.
