The hip-hop and dance music festival scales down for “Planet B” with a stepped-up New Orleans presence on the Market Street Power Plant grounds.

Buku won the Pandemic Communication Derby among the New Orleans music festivals by consistently talking to fans as fans. It’s no surprise that Buku is also the first of the local music festivals that moved to October to announce its lineup. Megan Thee Stallion, ILLENIUM, Machine Gun Kelly, Playboi Carti, Kaytranada, Zeds Dead, Alison Wonderland, and Jamie xx top Buku’s “Planet B” lineup—”Planet B” being “a parallel plane of existence daring us triumph over uncertainty,” according to Buku’s website. That translates as a scaled down version of the festival that will take place October 22-23 for one time only on the Market Street Power Plant grounds adjacent to Buku’s traditional home at Mardi Gras World.

Fifty acts will perform including more than 20 local acts. Also performing are Pooh Shiesty, Chris Lake, Still Woozy, EARTHGANG, Ghostemane, Ashnikko, Subtronics, SVDDEN DEATH: VOYD, Arlo Parks, Flo Milli, LSDREAM, Purple Disco Machine, Remi Wolf, slowthai, $NOT, Yung Baby Tate, Chee, Dua Saleh, Lucii, Mize, Moore Kismet, 박혜진 Park Hye Jin, Pears, Pell presents: GLBL WRMNG, ssgkobe, TVBOO, VNSSA, 504icygrl, ANTWIGADEE!, BluShakurX, Bouffant Bouffant, DJ Heelturn, Don Peyote B2B BuckTen, GØ PNIK, Lady Lavender, Lango, Legatron Prime, Lil Iceberg, Malik Ninety Five, Odd the Artist, Rob49, Stone Cold Jzzle, Treety and ZiggMonster.
