New Year's Eve in New Orleans

Here's where you can see in 2013 with live music in New Orleans.

[Updated] New Year's Eve is always an adventure, and in New Orleans it's one accompanied by live music starting at 9 p.m. in Jackson Square. The city's official festivities begin with performances by (in order) Brass-A-Holics, Mia Borders and Bonerama. 

In the clubs, Atlanta garage punks The Black Lips to the bill at One Eyed Jacks, and Galactic see in the new year at Tipitina's with MyNameIsJohnMichael. The Howlin' Wolf presents Rebirth Brass Band and Papa Grows Funk, and the House of Blues features Gregg Allman with the Royal Southern Brotherhood. 

The Soul Rebels and Mississippi Rail Company ring in the new year at d.b.a., and Eric Lindell plays The Circle Bar. Siberia presents Leftover Crack, Juicy Karkass, Crackbox, Vapo-Rats, Mea Culpa, and The Maison features Brass-A-Holics, The Local Skank and the Lagniappe Brass Band. Toubab Krewe and Honey Island Swamp Band perform at The Blue Nile, and Topsy Chapman and Solid Harmony play 8 and 10 p.m. shows at Snug Harbor. Gravity A plays a "New Year's Eve Bash" at Hangar 13, and Rock 'n' Bowl presents Tab Benoit with Jonathan "Boogie" Long. Jon Cleary and The Absolute Monster Gentlemen will reunite at Chickie Wah Wah.

The biggest party is "Big Night New Orleans" at the Hyatt Regency, which features entertainment by Cowboy Mouth, DJ Icey, DJ Mode, Bustout Burlesque, Big Sam's Funky Nation, DJ Mike Swift, Stooges Brass Band, and Beatwalker.
