NOLA x NOLA Announces No Cover Benefit Series

The festival focused on music in New Orleans’ live music venues has a number of shows to benefit important non-profits in the Crescent City.

NOLA x NOLA starts on Thursday, throwing a frame around New Orleans’ nightlife to remind people how magical live music in the Crescent City can be. This year, NOLA x NOLA has worked to present the music community and the venues at their best including a number of special benefit “NOLA x No Cover.” Organizers have found sponsors to pay the bands, and attendees are encouraged to spend some of the money they might have used for a cover charge to help designated New Orleans non-profits

The series includes Morning 40 Federation make a rare trip Uptown to play on the back patio at Snake & Jake’s to benefit the Louisiana SPCA, and The Blue Nile will host a night of jam/jazz/funk trios with old friends Stanton Moore, Eddie Roberts, and Robert Walter then Will Blades, Ari Teitel, and Spud benefitting the Roots of Music.

On Tuesday, September 30, there will be a block party that starts at BJ’s with C’est Funk and moves to Vaughan’s for exactly-what-the-name-promises LSD Clownsystem.

These shows cover a broad swath of New Orleans music with the punk Big Garden, hip-hop, funk, jazz, indie rock and Latin dance music.
