What We're Most Excited About at the New Orleans Film Festival

The festival starts tonight, and here are the movies we think we're looking forward to.

The 30th annual New Orleans Film Fest starts today. Tickets to the screenings are still available here. It might be a tribute to the art of making trailers but here’s the best we’ve seen so far:

Marriage Story - Opening Night, October 16

Starring Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver. From the mouth of NOFF:Marriage Story is Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Noah Baumbach's incisive and compassionate portrait of a marriage breaking up and a family staying together. The film stars Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver with Laura Dern, Alan Alda, and Ray Liotta as co-stars. 

Havana From on High - October 17

From the mouth of NOFF: Forced upwards by the chronic shortage of housing in Central Havana, makeshift houses form a secret village above a decaying district.

Lost Bayou - October 17

From the mouth of NOFF: In this Southern Gothic mystery, a struggling addict ventures into the Louisiana swamp to reconnect with her faith healer father, only to discover he is hiding a troubling secret aboard his houseboat.

The Report - Closing Night, October 23

Starring Adam Driver, features Annette Benning, Jon Hamm and others. From the mouth of NOFF: Idealistic Senate staffer Daniel J. Jones (Adam Driver) is tasked by his boss, Dianne Feinstein (played by Annette Benning in an awards-caliber performance) to lead an investigation into the CIA's post-9/11 Detention and Interrogation Program.
