Win Tickets to See The 502s at Tipitina's

The 502s

The upbeat folk-rock band will bring a little beach to New Orleans on June 28, and we’re giving away a pair of tickets to the show.

Orlando’s exuberant Americana folk band The 502s will play Tipitina’s on Wednesday, June 28, and we have a pair of tickets to give away courtesy of Winter Circle Productions. The contest closes June 27 at 6 p.m.

It’s a sign of the band’s core positivity that it came out of the COVID lockdown with an album titled Could it Get Better Than This. The band’s calling card is its energetic, sing-along friendly live show, which the own unapologetically.

“It’s okay to be happy and figure out how to be happy,” singer Ed Isola said in an interview. “I think we are all very comfortable in our skin, and our natural personalities are very happy and positive and trying to help other people with that as much as we can through our music and stupid jokes.”

That approach has helped them find a following on TikTok that has translated to concerts. The first time they played New York City, they played to a dozen or so people, but they sold out two nights at the Bowery Ballroom earlier on the “Freshly Squeezed Happiness Tour” that brings them to New Orleans.

The 502s are touring in support of their Stories to Tell EP and the new The Sunshine EP, which they’re giving away on their website to the first 50 respondents. Two tracks from it are already streaming, including “Summer Wind,” which celebrates the simple pleasure of singing together in a song so immediate that fans can join in almost immediately.

The 502s will play Tipitina’s on Wednesday with Under the Rug opening. Tickets are on sale now.
